The Sounds of the Silk Road

The new, grandiose venture of the Magyar Rhapsody Project, “Sounds of the Silk Road”, is a cultural and musical journey that connects the vibrations of the ancient Carpathian Basin with the music of Eurasian peoples—from the Balkans through Central Asia all the way to the heart of China.

The project's goal is to revive the musical heritage of the historic Silk Road in a modern guise, with spectacular music videos and a contemporary sound. The members of the MRP are collaborating with international singers and performers from, among others, Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and China—jointly building a bridge between cultures, formulated through music.

A special, multilingual documentary film is also being produced from the project's musical material—under the production leadership of Réka Csoóri—featuring renowned domestic and international music historians, researchers, and artists. The film tells the story of those eternal musical and cultural connections that transcend borders and centuries.

 The Sounds of the Silk Road is not merely a music series—it is a cultural mission, a substantive dialogue among the peoples of the Silk Road.
